D&C 108: God's message to those striving to be "children of light"
I would also invite you to read D&C 108 as if the Lord was speaking to YOU personally. Imagine you have started to
keep the commitments necessary to become a child of light. I have changed a very few words. You may feel impressed to change other things to make it more personal.
D&C 108
1 Verily
thus saith the Lord unto you, my "child who is seeking the light": Your sins are forgiven you, because you have obeyed my voice in coming up hither
this morning to receive counsel of "prophets concerning LIGHT and VIRTUE
and AVOIDING PORNOGRAPHY AND DARKNESS."
2 Therefore,
let your soul be at rest concerning
your spiritual standing, and resist no more my voice.
3 And
arise up and be more careful henceforth in
observing your vows TO SEEK THE LIGHT AND AVOID THE DARKNESS, which you
have made and do make, and you shall be blessed with exceeding great blessings.
4 Wait
patiently …, then you shall be remembered "AS A CHILD OF LIGHT AT THE
SECOND COMING".
5 Behold,
this is the promise of the Father unto you if you continue faithful.
6 And
it shall be fulfilled upon you in that day that you
shall have right to preach my gospel AND SHARE MY LIGHT wheresoever I
shall send you, from henceforth from that time.
7 Therefore, strengthen your brethren in all your
conversation, in all your prayers, in all your exhortations, and in all your
doings.
8 And
behold, and lo, I am with you to bless you
and deliver you AND YOUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS forever. Amen.
Please take this blessing very personally and
God promises that he is bound to honor your efforts! (D&C 82:10)
